My Top 5 Best Male Anime Characters

This time it won't be an anime review. This blog post is devoted to the five best male anime characters I've ever seen. The best of the best. The dearest of the favorites. I don't know if you will share my opinion but it doesn't matter. In the end we all have our own favorites.
When it comes to a good character, in my opinion, he or she has to be imperfect meaning he or she has to have some flaws in personality. You probably ask your self why I think so. The answer is pretty simple. If a character has a flaw he will want to fix it some time in the anime, and that's when it becomes interesting. The character development adds some amusement to the story whether the character wants to fix his past, stop being an asshole or just becoming a better person.
On the other side there are those characters you just have to love. They are funny, amusing and have that special aura that makes you "fall in love" with them.
Enough with the talk, let's get to the TOP 5 of AnimeGirl's favorite male characters.

No.5 Leon Lewis-Garo: Honoo no Kokuin (Review on Garo)

I think there are a lot people who don't like Leon. I know he was kind of a jerk in the beginning, but  you don't have to be nice to be my favorite. Besides, Leon goes trough the biggest character development I've seen. He turned form an aloof, little bastard into an considerate and open-hearted teenager. But I have to admit that I have found it a bit funny how puberty hits him. In the anime, Leon moves on from the ashes of his past. His biggest problem, how I think, is that he pitied  him-self and just acted like a child craving attention. Well, I kinda understand him. I mean growing up without a mother and a father like his...Yeah. It was interesting to see him growing up and finding his place on Earth.  No. 5 Leon Lewis.

No.4 Juuzou Suzuya-Tokyo Ghoul (Review on Tokyo Ghoul)

This little girl-like guy really gives you the creeps. "I tried to be normal once, and it was boring" is one of his most famous quotes. The second one describes his personality and his past "Why would I apologize for being a monster? Had anyone ever apologized for turning me into one?". Guys, I think that this guy had on of the cruelest pasts an anime character can have. Do you know what it means to be turned it a monster. Into a killer machine. How cruel someone is to be able to take away the humanity of someone. Thinking about it makes me feel strange. It kinda stitches. Even though growing up in a dark cave Juuzou found light. Under that crazy and funny facade lies a dead soul that only one person got to see. Yukinori Shinohara, his former partner is the only person that gets close to him. And afterall what happened to him he remains careless and childish, and that's why, I think, a lot of peole love Suzuya. My No.4 or maybe No.3 but I'll leave it like this for now.

No.3 Son Hak-Akatsuki no Yona (Review on Akatsuki no Yona)

He is my, how people call it, "Anime-crush". I am in love with the character of Son Hak. He is brave and very strong but not conceited. I mean he is carrying the title of the strongest soldier in the kingdom but is still a down-to-earth and caring guy. Hak looks like a cool, bad-ass guy that is breaking girls' hearts all over the kingdom but actually has his own heart broken. Although he is the Thunder Beast of Kouka he still has one weakness, Princess Yona. The way he had to live in the shadows of Yona's love for Soo-Won just tears me apart. Yet it kinda reminds of that cute-school-romance. Everyone around knows how he feels, everyone except Yona her-self. Hak is also one of the wittiest characters ever. One more reason to love him. He is the proof that even bad-ass guys have a heart. He even stole mine and became No.3.

 No.2 Shougo Makishima-Psycho Pass (Review on Psycho-Pass)

I previously said that a character doesn't have to be nice to be one of my favorites. This guy is the prefect example. He is the evilest character of all evil anime characters and yet he made it to the very top of my favorites. Makishima is the antagonist of the first Psycho-Pass season and I can surely say that he is the main reason I loved that anime so much. I am even thinking of watching it once again. Makishima is a mastermind, a brilliant criminal you don't see every day. As I said in my Psycho-Pass review (link in the title) he is my favorite villain after Joker form Batman. The way he drives everyone crazy with his calmness is epic and so amusing. Not to mention all his quotes from the show. He was gifted by such an ability of narration and charisma.  Here are two quotes for you:
"Humans are clever wolves not dumb sheep. We just convince our selves we don't know what's happening to avoid responsibility."
"Pleasures of the body have limits, but pleasures of the mind are infinite."
This guy deserves a place in the Hall of Fame of Anime characters. I just love him. And I really want to commend the job of the Psycho-Pass makers. Awesome and hat down.

No.1 Lelouch Lamperouge-Code Geass (Review on Code Geass

Don't think of me now as a cliche AnimeGirl because I chose Lelouch as my No.1. It was actually very close between him and Makishima but Lelousch won in the end. The reason? It is very hard to explain. True Leloush is not the character I love the most, but he is still my favorute. Why? Because I cannot express the feeling I have when I think about him. What's it called when you feel hatred and love in the same time. Can someone tell me how is that feeling called. I mean, how brilliant does an anime maker have to be to develop such a great character. This is the reason Lelouch is on the first place. He is brilliant, he is a jerk, he treats the people that love him like trash and hides his feelings because of a mask. I hate him, still I cried in the end so much because of him like I've never cried before. It was unbelievable! I think it was because even tough he sacrificed a lot of his comrades and friends he couldn't ignore the ones closest to him including Kallen, Sousaku, Nunnaly, Shirley etc. Besides he had one goal, so important that he would do anything just to achieve it. And now comes the sibling story again. I think he and Nunnaly had a special relationship because she was the only thing he had left when he actually lost everything. He even gave up his own life just to make her happy. That was epic and very emotional. Lelouch Lamperouge. A character I love and hate at the same time. Seems illogical, but it's true. That's why he was chosen to be my No.1. My Favorite of the favotites. Lulu.
